We have had some great results, with everyone passing their exam

In total there were 7 ‘A’ and 7 ‘B’ grades. We are still waiting fo the results from the Ballet exams, we’ll let you know as soon as they arrive.

Summer Term 2010 dates are: 19 April until 24 July 2010 (No classes 31/05 – 06/06, Half Term)

“Returning after its successful debut in 2009, GD°1 presents a brand new evening of dance for 2010 that showcases talented local dancers aged between 4 and 24. This thrilling show puts numerous dance forms in the spotlight and makes for an unforgettable night of entertainment. You may even be inspired to start dancing yourself!”

Classes are held Monday to Saturday in our own premises, comprising of two studios, changing facilities and an on site shop. Children are welcome from 3 years old.  All of our professional staff are fully CRB (Criminal Record Bureau) checked.

Since our inception in September 2002, we have achieved a 100% pass mark in examinations taken. Pupils from the school have successfully auditioned for, and accepted places at The Royal Ballet, London Junior Ballet, Laine Theatre Arts, Performers College, Italia Conti, Bird College and Stella Mann College. In addition pupils from LH:TS have appeared in professional productions, including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in London’s West End, and a professional production of Aladdin alongside stars from the stage and screen. The school also enjoys continued success in dance festivals throughout the country.  We were winners at the prestigious All England National dance finals in 2009.

This years Summer School will be held on 26th-30th July 2010.  A dedicated page will be set up shortly with more information and prices, however you can register your interest by sending an e-mail to fionaharris@googlemail.com

New Premises

Planning permission was in the local paper this week for our proposed new premises, which will be located on Enterprise Way, Leighton Buzzard.  Please keep your fingers crossed!  If everything goes to plan we’ll have lots (&lots) of news on this coming your way shortly

Parents Fund

Over £500 has now been banked in the parents fund.  This has been raised from a number of sources, such as the xmas bazaar, Mrs Bell (Chocolate Sales) Mrs Frost’s ‘Tuck Shop’ and more.  Thank you to all of our volunteers who are working hard to raise funds for LHTS! All fundraising ideas are welcome.

Please check the festival board for all upcoming festival dates / times.  These are posted on the board as soon as we get them.

Please remember that if your child is invited to take part in group dances, it will be entered at ALL festivals that the school particpates in.  Names and payment have to be submitted well in advance, usually 3 months before the festival is due to take place.  If your child is in a group and UNABLE to dance, please inform us at the earliest possible opportunity.  Once the entry has been made and paid for we cannot obtain refunds, and we will require fees from all pupils involved in the group.
